A comprehensive summary (103 pages), sent to the highest authorities of the State in France and Ireland, was prepared by Marie-Victoire Louis during the winter of 2008: \u201cThe murder of Sophie Toscan du Plantier, born Sophie Bouniol: eleven years of flaws and denials of justice\u201d <a href=\"http:\/\/www.assoph.org\/assoph\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/assassinat_sophie_toscan_du_plantier_1.pdf\">L\u2019assassinat de Sophie Toscan du Plantier, n\u00e9e Sophie Bouniol : onze ans de manquements et de d\u00e9nis de justice<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 becoming known by mobilizing the press and by publishing numerous newspaper articles, by opening the website: https:\/\/www.assoph.org\/Accueil.html <a href=\"https:\/\/assoph.org\/assoph\/en\/\">http:\/\/www.assoph.org\/<\/a> accessible dans le monde entier,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 participating in broadcast by the main French and Irish media about the case: TF1, FR2, FR3, Itele, BFM TV, RTE, Europe 1, RTL etc,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 setting long term links with Irish and French institutions and influancial actors(senator, journalists, association, French Embassy in Dublin, Ministry of Justice). Constant contacts with prominent journalists allowed to move forward efficiently,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 challenging the Irish and French authorities at the highest level to bring the case to a successful conclusion,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/assoph.org\/assoph\/en\/?p=518\">Open letter to the President of the French Republic of April 09, 2008<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/assoph.org\/assoph\/en\/?p=522\">Letter to Mary Mc Aleese, President of Republic of Ireland, in date of April 12 2008<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/assoph.org\/assophtest\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/LetTaoiseachBrianCowen.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Letter to Brian Cowen Prime <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/assoph.org\/assoph\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/LetTaoiseachBrianCowen.pdf\">Minister of Republic of Ireland, in date of May 21 2008<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 to pressure the Irish authorities to have access to the investigation file and ultimately obtain all relevant official documents,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2013 to support Sophie's family in their fight for truth and justice (counselled by sollicitors Spilliaert and Dupond-Moretti, support in procedures and visits to Ireland, translations, joint work, etc.).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 2008:<\/strong> Order for the exhumation of Sophie's body issued by the investigating judge Gachon, in charge of the case since 2007 ( after four previous investigate judges ). <br><a href=\"https:\/\/assoph.org\/assoph\/en\/?p=607\">Exceptional procedure of July 1, 2008:<\/a> Exhumation of the victim's body.<br><strong>July 2008:<\/strong> The DPP announces its decision not to prosecute Ian Bailey, as the case stands. The Garda announces its decision to transfer the file to the French Justice.
